Peace Ribbon Closing Event

Peace Ribbon Closing Event will Feature the Watadas Mon. Feb. 26, 5pm.

Bob and Rosa Watada, father and step-mother of Hawaii war resister Lt.
Ehren Watada, will speak on Monday, February 26 for the closing event of
the Peace Ribbon Project. The free public talk is at 5pm in the
library’s ground floor classroom, co-sponsored by Maui Peace Action,
Code Pink Maui, the MCC Peace Club and the Associated Students of MCC.
The Watadas’ topic is their son Lt. Ehren Watada’s stand for the
Constitution and for a soldier’s constitutional rights. They will also
give an update and answer questions on what may potentially be next for
Ehren, whose court-martial ended in a mistrial on Feb. 7.

The 125 panels of Code Pink’s nationally-traveling Peace Ribbon Project,
each honoring a person or group of persons killed in the Iraq invasion
and occupation are on display in the MCC Library through the 26th of
February. The public may see the exhibit, which is hung on all 3 floors
of the library, between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday through Thursday
and between 8am and 4:30pm on Friday and Saturday. For more information,
contact Chuck Carletta at 984-3305.

Students, get connected!

UH Students, new computers in the library help you connect to the Internet. If you are a UH student, the library's Internet computers provide fast and easy Internet connectivity.

The computers are for research and don't have the full Office suite or productivity software you will find in Ka Lama Computer Center (a.k.a., The Business Lab) or The Learning Center.

Community users are not permitted to use the library's computers. For the community the public libraries (no affiliation to MCC Library) and the many Internet cafes on the island are availiable for your use.
